Advantages of conductive silicone strips
Conductive silicone strips (conductive zebra strips) are widely used in electronic devices. The following are their core advantages, covering uniform P-value, low resistance, small skew, good stability, and performance in high and low temperature tests.
1.The P-value (spacing) is uniform
The P-value of the conductive rubber strip refers to the distance between the centerlines of adjacent conductive layers in the electrical rubber strip, that is, the thickness of a single cycle when the conductive silicone layer and the insulating silicone layer are alternately superimposed. We have a variety of P-values to choose from and they are uniform, as shown in the following figure.

2.Characteristics of low resistance
The conductive layer of the conductive rubber strip is supported by silicone with highly conductive fillers (such as carbon black or metal particles), which has an extremely low volume resistivity, ensuring efficient signal transmission and reducing energy loss.
• The resistivity of the insulation layer:1012
• Contact resistance: Under a force of 30g, the surface contact resistance is less than 100Ω
• Resistivity of the conductive layer: 2.5-6Ω·cm
3.The deviation of the insulation layer α ≤2°
The conductive layer and the insulating layer of the conductive rubber strip are arranged alternately, and the deflection of the insulating layer is controlled at α≤2°.
• The contact surface should be flat to avoid poor contact caused by tilting

4.Good stability
Conductive silicone strips show excellent stability in long-term use, mainly reflected in:
• High interlayer bonding strength: The conductive layer and the insulating layer are closely combined, with no risk of delamination.
• Texture retention: It is not prone to deformation under long-term pressure, ensuring a uniform contact surface
• Anti-corrosion and sealing properties: Conductive rubber strips can form an airtight seal, moisture-proof, anti-corrosion, and extend their service life.
• Anti-shock and cushioning: Silicone material is elastic, protecting components from damage caused by impact.

5.Performance in high and low temperature tests
Conductive rubber strips still maintain good performance in extreme temperature environments.
Operating temperature range: -25℃ to 100℃, short-term temperature resistance up to 200℃.
• Operating temperature range: -45℃ to 150℃, short-term temperature resistance up to 200℃.
• Humidity adaptability: It can still operate stably at 85% relative humidity (25℃)

Advantages of silicone buttons
The service life of the silicone button, the pressing value (force and stroke), the number of times the surface wears, the number of times the conductive black particles fall off, and the long-term wear resistance of the surface silk screen.Silicone keypads are widely used in a variety of industrial control equipment, industrial instruments, CNC machine tools, smart home appliances, POS terminals, and other fields due to their superior properties.
1.The service life of the press
The lifespan of silicone buttons is generally related to speed, force, travel, and number of presses. Therefore, the service life of silicone buttons can be customized based on different application scenarios. Typically, it's around 1 million times, and specialized silicone buttons can reach 15 million times. This requires strict specifications for the material and sloped wall structure of silicone buttons.

2.Pressing value (force and stroke)
• Force Range: The trigger force of silicone buttons is generally 50-200 gf (gram-force). This can be precisely controlled by adjusting the silicone hardness (Shore A 30-70 degrees) or structural design (such as guide post height and wall thickness).
• Force Curve Optimization: By adjusting material thickness and rebound structure, silicone buttons can achieve a peak-to-valley force ratio of 40%-60%, ensuring a comfortable feel.

3.The number of times the conductive black particles fall off
The service life of conductive black particles: The carbon particles and silicone have a strong bond, and usually they may fall off after 500,000 to 1 million presses. High-end technology (such as embedded inner molding) can extend it to more than 2 million times.

4.Surface silk screen durability
The service life of silk screen patterns is greatly affected by the frequency of use and environmental factors.
Test Standards: Silicone silk screen printing (characters/patterns) must remain legible after passing the alcohol rubbing test (1000+ times), a 500g load, and an abrasion test (10,000+ times). The eraser test is performed with a standard requirement of 1000 times and a high requirement of 30,000 times. Ordinary silk screen printing may become blurred after 100,000 times of rubbing.
